Client-based Services
Housing and Supportive Services. A portfolio of programs providing statewide financial assistance in the area of adequate housing, supportive services and emergency financial assistance to individuals with HIV/AIDS. Major sub-programs include:
Early Intervention Program (EIP), AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), and AIDS Substance Abuse Program (ASAP). These programs assist persons who have tested positive for HIV to access primary health care. EIP pays for limited outpatient medical, diagnostic, dental and phychosocial services; ADAP covers certain approved drugs; and ASAP assists persons to access certain prescriptions and EIP approved medical services for the chemically dependent. Participation in ASAP is limited to persons seeking abuse treatment form a Division of Mental Health certified treatment center.
