Purpose of This Document
The purpose of this document is to provide the Board of Directors with a starting point for a short-term ( 6 - 12 month) strategy and structure -- essentially 1999.

Long Term and Short Term Visions [TOP]
This document is intended to identify the Short-Term needs (6 - 12 month) and solutions for Diversity Center.
A Long Term vision will be developed by the new Board of Directors seated during the second quarter of 2000. (after 4/1/2000).
Assumptions and Constraints [TOP]
The following items were assumed to be true or identified as constraints impacting the strategy and solutions identified in this document:
- Diversity, INC is in the early stages of growth ( open < 4 years)
- All Volunteer Staff and Limited Resources at this time
- We have an exceptional Library and Archives
- Limited Income at this time
- We have NO office space
- The two biggest publicly perceived concerns regarding the use of the center located at 1112 Southeastern Avenue, in the basement of ICLU, were the facility was not handicapped accessible and some concerns regarding security.
- Money, in the form of grants and donations, is available, but without a location, they are unattainable.
Primary Objectives [TOP]
This document is intended to identify the Short-Term needs (6 - 12 month) and solutions for Diversity, INC. These primary objectives are:
- Improve Financial Situation
- Improve Public Image
- Locate and move to a Site, while balancing money, location, square footage, and accessibility
- Increase Membership
- Formalize Operations
- Increase Volunteerism
- Initiate Programming
These objectives will be prioritized. No Board Member shall bear responsibility for more than one objective.
