Three performers in need of serious psychiatric help attempt to condense all of William Shakespeare's 37 plays into 90 minutes! STEEL MAGNOLIAS

Indianapolis Civic Theatre on Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm
$23 main floor, $18 balcony
Tickets 317-923-4597

About the play:

Skillfully crafted, full of sharp and funny dialogue, playwright Robert Harling evokes an affectionate picture of eccentricity in the small-town South. Concerned with a group of gossipy women in a beauty parlor, this popular Broadway comedy is alternately hilarious and touching - and, in the end, deeply revealing of the strength and purposefulness which underlies the antic banter of its characters. The story chronicles the lives of six women over a two-year period, capturing the joy and sorrow, poignancy and crisis of everyday life. The action is set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana where all the ladies who are 'anybody' come to have their hair done. Helped by her dithering young assistant, the out-spoken, wise-cracking Truvy ("There's no such thing as natural beauty") dispenses shampoos and free advice to her customers. A poignant play filled with Southern humor!

Location & parking info:

Indianapolis Civic Theatre is located at 1200 W. 38th Street, on the beautiful grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
