Maragaret Cho's Revolution!
With the same unbridled, no holds-barred humor seen on her Notrious C.H.O. Tour, Margaret now tackles the axis of evil, her travels through Thailand's red light district, the explosion of child birth, bartering sex for household chores, revolutionizing your self- esteem, the joy of bodily functions, her loser ex-boyfriend, and of course, her world-famous mother, plus much more that cannot be printed.
Margaret Cho is a one-of-a-kind phenomenon, with a diverse and fervently loyal audience that includes gays and lesbians, Asian Americans, women, people of color, college students, comedy fans and basically anyone who has ever felt invisible. Great comics like Lenny Bruce, George Carlin and Richard Pryor all paved her way, but Margaret has a distinctive, outrageous, hilarious, individualistic and ultimately empowering personal voice.

Eleanor Roosevelt returns to Indianapolis by popular demand!
In celebration of Women's History Month, Nan Brooks brings her one-woman play Dear Mrs. Roosevelt to the Jesus Metropolitan Community Church on Friday, March 21, at 8 p.m. All proceeds from this performance benefit the National Women's Music Festival and Women In the Arts, Inc.
Nan's highly acclaimed performance rewards audiences with a strikingly vivid portrayal of an American heroine. Mrs. Roosevelt greets the audience as though they are visitors in her home and talks about her life and times from her Victorian childhood through her years as First Lady to her service at the United Nations. Those who have seen Nan Brooks' interpretation of Eleanor Roosevelt, including Indianapolis theatre critics, have said that the former First Lady and humanitarian comes to life before their eyes in a performance that was praised even by Mrs. Roosevelt's granddaughter, Anne Roosevelt Johnston.
Dear Mrs. Roosevelt originated in Bloomington in 1985 and has since inspired audiences from Los Angeles to New York City. Ms. Brooks has revised the script many times as she has played to a variety of audiences from kindergarten classes to middle schools to colleges to national conferences. An actress since childhood, Nan has also appeared in Indianapolis in Oasis Productions' Gertrude Stein and a Companion in addition to the Oasis-sponsored run of Dear Mrs. Roosevelt at the Phoenix Theatre in 1993. Jay Harvey, former critic for the Indianapolis Star, declared the play one of the five best theatre productions of that year.
Tickets are $12 in advance; $15 day of show. You can purchase tickets at Out Word Bound, 625 N. East Street, Indianapolis; Athena, 108 E. Kirkwood, Bloomington; or through Women in The Arts, Inc.; phone (317) 927-9355; e-mail . Methods of acceptable payment are cash, checks, VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. (Discover cards are not accepted.)
Directions to the church are available at www.jesusmcc.org. The play is suitable for children over the age of six.

Betty DeGeneres at Butler
Betty DeGeneres, mother of openly gay actress Ellen DeGeneres, will speak at Butler University on Wednesday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Reilly Room of Atherton Union. The event is free and open to the public. DeGeneres will be discussing education, compassion, and justice for lesbians and gay men.
Thrust into the national spotlight when her daughter made history as she came out of the closet, DeGeneres quickly became one of the strongest and most visible advocates for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender civil rights.
"We wanted to bring Mrs. DeGeneres to campus because as a mom, she's got a lot of things to say about acceptance of lesbians and gays that will be particularly meaningful for the largely-straight Butler community," said Kenneth DeGraff, Butler student and co-president of the Butler Alliance.
After her positive response to her daugther's public coming out, DeGeneres decided to become the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) National Coming Out spokesperson in 1997, and continues in that role to this day. As the HRC's National Coming Out spokesperson, DeGeneres has appeared on television public service announcements and has spoken throughout the country to promote honesty about being gay, or having a gay family member and supporting equal rights for gay people. She is also the author of two books: Love, Ellen: A Mother/Daughter Journey and Just a Mom.
The event is sponsored by the Butler Alliance, Out Word Bound Books, Butler's Office of Diversity Program, Human Rights Campaign-Indiana, REACH, Butler's Student Government Association, Butler's department of gender studies and Indiana Youth Group.
Founded in 1855, Butler University serves more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students in five academic colleges: Business Administration, Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the Jordan College of Fine Arts. Butler University is consistently cited in such national college guides as US News & World Report, Kaplan/Newsweek and Barron's Best Buy in College Education.

About Laura Davis
LAURA DAVIS helped millions heal with her classic books The Courage to Heal and Allies in Healing. Her supportive guide "Becoming the Parent You Want to Be" taught parents to create a vision for their families. Her books have been published in more than ten languages and have sold more than 1.8 million copies worldwide. Now, in "I Thought We'd Never Speak Again", she tackles another critical emerging issue: reconciling relationships sundered by betrayal, anger, and misunderstanding.
Her inspiring book is filled with powerful first-person stories, teaches us how to make peace in relationships that have ended because of anger, betrayal, or misunderstanding. Whether you have a sister you no longer speak to; an adult child you wish you knew; a parent you long to connect with; a friendship gone sour; or a desire to make peace with your enemy, this book will give you a rich array of tools for repairing damaged relationships.
In her lecture, Laura will speak about an important distinction between reconciliation and forgiveness, explaining how people can make peace and reconnect without necessarily forgiving past hurts or resolving all of their differences. A former talk show host and media professional, Laura is an articulate and inspiring speaker. Her style in person - just as in "I Thought We'd Never Speak Again"- is simple, clear and warm.

Kroger, Yoplait Team Up to Help Find a Cure for Breast Cancer;
$10,000 Goal Set for 13th Annual Indianapolis Race
The Kroger Co. and Yoplait has announced the launch of the Kroger Salutes Indianapolis Survivors program, an in-store fundraising effort for breast cancer research. The program is integrated with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Indianapolis Race for the Cure® on April 12, 2003.
From March 29th through Race day, Yoplait, the National Series Presenting Sponsor of the Komen Race for the Cure® Series, and Kroger, a local sponsor, will donate $1 for every 10 Yoplait yogurt cups sold to consumers in Indianapolis-area Kroger stores, up to $10,000.
In addition, Kroger and Yoplait are honoring Debbie Vickery, a local Kroger employee, who, as a spokesperson for the program, hopes to spread the life-saving message of early detection and help find a cure for the disease that annually claims the lives of almost 40,000 women and 400 men in the United States.
"My life changed overnight," says Vickery. "One day I was fine. The next I was taking a shower, and I discovered a lump in my breast, the kind of lump that kills thousands of women each year. I was 34-years-old and had never had a mammogram. I'm participating in this program to help raise awareness about the importance of self-breast exams and regular mammograms. These simple precautions can save a lot of lives, and a lot heartache."
Contributions from sponsors, like Yoplait and Kroger, have helped the Komen Indianapolis Affiliate provide local breast cancer education and outreach programs. Up to 75 percent of net proceeds from each local Komen Race for the Cureā stay in the community to fund breast health education and breast cancer programs that meet the needs of the medically under-served. A minimum of 25 percent of funds raised directly supports the Komen Foundation Award and Research Grant Program.
In 1999, Yoplait became the National Series Volunteer Program Sponsor of the Komen Race for the Cure® Series. In 2000, Yoplait was one of seven National Series Sponsors. Continuing to increase its role, Yoplait became the National Series Presenting Sponsor in 2001. During the past several years, through programs such as "Save Lids to Save Lives®, Yoplait has donated more than $1.8 million to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Extending its involvement to Race day, Yoplait will host "Destination Yoplait" where survivors, Race participants, and family members can gather after the Race for free Yoplait yogurt and children's activities under a 20' tall inflatable Yoplait yogurt container.
