Indianapolis - The Community of Love will host their 6th Annual World AIDS Day Reception and Outstanding Dedication Awards presentation on Friday, December 1, 2006 at the Indianapolis Urban League, 777 Indiana Avenue from 6 pm to 9:30 pm.

This years theme is "Stop AIDS Keep The Promise." This event, is dedicated to HIV/AIDS survivors. The evening will include a reception, silent auction, designer fashion show. The fashion show will be presented by Denderah "Deidra Coleman" and La'Bush Designs. Derek Wilkerson, Fox 59 will be Master of Ceremony, Keynote speaker, Pastor Thomas A. Hill of Healing Streams Word and Worship and Selvy Hall (Patient Advocate) with Gilead Sciences.

The ANGELA BROWN YOUTH AWARD will be given to a Peer Educator of the Teach One about HIV/AIDS Pass the Knowledge On Training. Deidra Coleman will receive the OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL AWARD, and Ed Alexander of the Damien Center will be presented with the ORGANIZATION AWARD and Healthy Community Network Indiana (HCNI) will be receiving our COMMUNITY PARTNER AWARD.

This event is sponsored by the Marion County Health Department / SOS Youth and Young Adult Sub-Committee, Gilead Sciences and the Indianapolis Urban League.

All proceeds will benefit Community of Love transitional housing and to further our mission of providing support and services for those living with HIV/AIDS. All donations made to the Community of Love are tax deductible.
