Indy Pride President, Gary Brackett will be receiving one of two Lambda Legal Individual Leadership Awards at the 8th Annual Lambda Legal Dinner on Thursday, September 20, 2007. The dinner will be held at the Marriott Indianapolis Downtown, 350 W. Maryland Street from 5:30 - 9:00 p.m.

In addition to cocktails and dinner, the evening will feature an awards program honoring citizens and organizations furthering the recognition of civil rights for the LGBT community both locally and statewide. For the past four years, Brackett has served as President of the Board of Directors of Indy Pride, Inc. During his leadership, Indy Pride, Inc. has seen record growth in attendance at Pride events from 6,000 people in 2002 to over 30,000 people in 2007.

In addition, Gary was instrumental in organizing the first Indy Pride Parade. During his tenure, Indy Pride has expanded to include the Pride Bag Ladies and the Pride of Indy Band. Indy Pride will have several tables at the Lambda Legal Dinner.
