CCR is a group of concerned citizens and community organizations who represent a broad range of constituencies in Greater Lafayette, Indiana.Our goal is to ensure freedom from discrimination and harassment for targeted groups of people who are now and/or have been historically been treated differentlybased on but not limited to race, sex, religion, color, sexualorientation,handicap, familial status, national origin, creed, age, orpolitical affiliation.CCR engages in social action activities such as monitoring the media, providing community education, increasing politicalawareness, collecting reports of hate crimes, circulating petitions, and fundraising.

HRC is the nation's largest GLBT political organization. It lobbies Congress, works to elect GLBT-friendly political candidates, sponsors public education, and engages in training and grassroots organizing. HRCIndiana works on the state level to organize the GLBT community, lobby the state legislature, educate political candidates, engage in get-out-the-vote work, sponsor social and fundraising activities, network with other GLBT and progressive organizations, and advance HRC's missions in Indiana.

The Indiana Civil Liberties Union (ICLU)  is an ardent support of the Gay and Lesbian communities.

The Gay and Lesbian Rights Task Force of the ICLU is active throughout the year. The Task force is comprised of 6 main committees, however ad-hoc committees are formed in response to current events. The 6 standing committees are:

The Indiana Transgender Rights Advocacy Alliance (INTRAA) works to organize the transgender community and work through education and legislative efforts to create a society that values and protects freedom of gender expression and the right to gender self-determination for all.

Specifically, INTRAA works to:

  • Insure freedom from social and government sanctioned discrimination against gender variant people in the areas of employment, housing, insurance, public services, health care, public safety, child protection and advocacy, and education;
  • Eliminate harassment and violence motivated by ignorance, fear and hatred of transgender, intersex, bisexual, lesbian, and gay people;
  • Change the law to incorporate advances in medical science and current standards of care with regard to the legal status of people who are transgendered; and
  • Join in efforts to create a society free of shame, secrecy, and unwanted surgery for intersex people.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transgender Fairness of Indiana is a not-for-profit lobbying and public policy group which provides the Hoosier state with comprehensive work on LGBT rights and health issues.

LGBT Fairness lobbies all levels of government including Local, State and Federal. They cover the full range of issues of concern to our community, including hate crimes/victims rights, police/community relations, LGBT civil rights, AIDS, lesbian health, insurance, youth/education and laws relating to our rights to organize and raise funds politically and socially.
