Amazon Girls - A Group for Everyone

(317) 274-0742
E-Mail:
Web Site: http://www.geocities.com/bthacker_46227/

Amazon Girls is a community of out, proud lesbians who seek adventure, whimsy, and the rekindling of ancient dreams. We want to be all that we can be, without the necessity of joining some Don't Ask Don't Tell military organization or becoming counselors at a children's camp.

Amazon Girls do whatever they want to do. Preferred activities will probably include the things you were discouraged from doing as a child and young woman: hiking, camping, drinking red wines with fish and poultry, flying kites, singing raucously on full moon nights, getting really sweaty in the garden, and doing other activities you really, really, really enjoy. Really.

Fellowship

P.O. Box 2331
Indianapolis, IN 46206-2331
E-mail:
Web Site: http://www.FellowshipIndy.org

a.k.a. Fellowship Indy or just Fellowship ~ Making Gay Friendships since 1977. Indy's longest existing gay social group. Members are adult, single-and-coupled gay men who enjoy good company, good conversation, and the opportunity to make new friends. Many members have developed relationships ranging from pleasant acquaintances, to good friends, to committed loving relationships. Many of the gay leaders in Indianapolis are or have been members.

We hold our pitch-in dinners each month, usually on a Saturday or Sunday evening. In summer we have pool picnics and an ice cream social party. Some months we hold a second pitch-in. Dinners take place in members' homes and clubhouses located in the metropolitan area. Each member brings a beverage and a dish to share. In January, we hold a more formal Holiday Cocktail Party.

It is difficult to characterize any social group, but some words that describe Fellowship and its members are: open, friendly, polite, interesting, generous, professional, organized and well managed, not religious (as one might understandably mistake from the name), no side agendas, not clickish, not drug or smoking or sex oriented, not alcohol oriented but you are welcome to bring it. In short, Fellowship Indy is a great place to socialize with very nice gay men in interesting homes.

Annual dues are $15. Couples living at the same address pay only one membership fee. Dues cover the costs of the newsletter and dinner utensils and supplies.

E-Mail:
Website:www.mutualfriends.org

The sole purpose of mutualfriends.org is to give gay/lesbian/bisexual and transgendered folks a new way to connect with others with whom they can relate. This is a non-dating service and intended for friendship searches only. It's free too.

Basically, this is how it works:

  1. sign up as a member of the newslist
  2. begin receiving emails from others on the list who describe themselves and their interests (if they want to - no one has to)
  3. choose to reply to those that interest you (off of the list - to the individual who wrote) and ideally connect with some new people
  4. You put your own post out to the members describing yourself and your interests and those that are interested will email you personally

Here is an actual post from one of our members (name excluded to protect her privacy):

Hi All - New to the list and just wanted to introduce myself and maybe find other lesbians/lesbian couples looking for friendship. My gf and I have a very small, but close circle of friends and are always on the lookout for other normal, non-swapping, fun, and "down to earth" kind of people. We live for summer so we can be on the boat. We enjoy camping, fever games, shopping, traveling, good conversation, and sometimes just a night on the town. Please feel free to email me, we'd love to hear from others in the area.
