ACLU : Making Schools Safe for LGBT Youth

Web Site: http://www.aclu.org/issues/gay/safe_schools.html

Despite significant progress in recent years, schools continue to ignore or promote homophobia, which leads to harassment and violence. This is particularly true in under-served rural communities, which have been largely unaffected by gains in more urban school districts. There are more than 15 million high school students in small towns nationwide. About a million of them are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered or questioning (LGBTQ).
