Gay Teen Celebrity to Speak at IYG

Gay youth calls peers to activism and support

At 18 years old, Jonathan Jaxson Lewandowski, is one of the youngest talk show host ever. Jaxson will speak at Indiana Youth Group, a program for gay and lesbian teens on Thursday Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. Jaxson

His first cable program, called Talk Time, was targeted to kids and showed local events in South Georgia Schools. In September of 1999, his popularity propelled him into his own celebrity-based cable show, called THE EDGE. Later in 2000 Jaxson won a Cable TV Emmy Award.

Now residing in Atlanta, Jaxson began his career by calling shows like Ricki Lake, Sally, The Roseanne Barr Show and MTV's TRL. His persistence paid off, and he began making regular appearances on the Ricki Lake Show along with Sally in 2001-2002 as a "Youth Activist".

To date, he has appeared on 10 national talk shows in the past two years, and has interviewed such celebrities as Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, BBMac, The Backstreet Boys, Samantha Mumba, LFO, O Town, Missy Elliott, Da Brat, Sally Jesse Raphael, Carson Daly, Destiny's Child, Shaggy, City High, and Nelly. He has also raised over one million dollars in the past 3 years for vatious, charities, and has been an outspoken acibitives in the jgithg agains HIV and AIDS.
