Indianapolis, July 14, 2004-- Indiana Youth Group, one of the nation's premier GLBT youth services organizations, is now accepting PayPal donations online from their website at www.indianayouthgroup.org.
"We often are denied availability to financial resources that other youth- serving organizations can take for granted" says Lydi Davidson, IYG's Executive Director, "so we need to depend on the community for financial support."
Davidson continues, "We are reaching out to diversify our funding base by asking corporations and foundations for support, and hope that they will recognize the importance of our cause and the essential services that IYG provides for GLBT youth in central Indiana. In the meantime, community support means so much in our efforts to give our youth access to services that we did not have growing up GLBT in Indiana."
By clicking on the "make a donation" button at IYG's website, site visitors are taken to a PayPal page where they can quickly and easily make a secure donation using a credit card or by transferring from their own PayPal accounts.
Davidson points out that even small donations will be helpful, and PayPal makes it very simple for those who wish to support IYG but don't have a lot of cash to spare. "The community has always been quick to help us in time of need" states Davidson, "and hopefully the trend will continue."
GayIndy.Org will also be supporting IYG's efforts with an ad box allowing GayIndy site visitors to donate to IYG directly from the GayIndy.Org site.
Indiana Youth Group, established in 1987, was one of the first service providers to GLBT youth established in the country, and is currently one of Central Indiana's leading providers of services to youth ages 12 to 21. Indiana Youth Group provides homeless outreach, coming-out groups, dating and relationship groups, educational opportunities, and essential health information services to the Indianapolis community and surrounding areas for 17 years. Publicly and privately funded, the organization serves over 140 youths each month.
