Indianapolis, July 21 , 2004-- The annual Indianaplis Pride Fesftive, IN Pride 2004, was held the weekend of June 12-13, 2004. The weekend events began with a pre-pride Picnic for individuals under 21 year of age which was sponsored by Indiana Youth Group (IYG). IN Pride 2004 officially began with the second annual GLBT Pride Parade. In only its second year, the GLBT Pride Parade realized a profit of $190.00 thanks in large part to the donation of time by security officers from the Marion County Sheriff's Department and Indianapolis Police Department.

The IN Pride 2004 Festival was once again held at University Park in downtown Indianapolis. The Festival had a record number of vendor booths this year (115) with income totaling $16,240. In addition, sponsorships for the event amounted to $73,000. Major sponsors included Smirnoff, Anheuser Busch, EXP, ID Lubricants, Indy Music Channel, Out In Indianapolis, Bank One and Coconut Cove Guesthouse (Ft. Lauderdale Beach).

The weekend festivities concluded on Sunday with a Back Alley Pride T-Dance featuring DJ Wayne Shepard at Metro Nightclub & Restaurant. A profit of $169.45 was realized from the dance.

Thanks to the dedication and hard work of volunteers and to the support of the community the 2004 Pride Guide was a big success and well received. In addition to income from the various events, the Board of Directors announced that a profit of $3,564.27 was made from the official IN Pride 2004 Pride Guide.

Because of the community support, Indy Pride will be able to give back to the community through scholarships and donations. I'm very proud of the Indianapolis community," stated Gary Brackett, Indy Pride President.

Indy Pride, Inc., is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, and all event profits are used for scholarships and other community service proijects.
