"Dedicating her life to sharing the good tidings from the friendly citizens and responsible merchants of her quality first-ring suburb," Miss Richfield 1981 is the creation of Russ King, who was born and raised in Richfield, Minnesota. Since her cabaret debut in 1996, the former beauty queen and current post-office switchboard operator known as Miss Richfield 1981 has been wowing audiences with her combination of civic pride and flamboyant fashion sense.

Known as Minnesota's answer to Dame Edna, Miss Richfield 1981 has branched out nationally over the past couple of years, including performing regularly on the Atlantis cruise line, a Hollywood-based company specializing in Gay & Lesbian resort vacations and cruises. Miss Richfield 1981 is a hit with people from all over the country who appreciate her suburban humor and home-style sensibilities.

Miss Richfield 1981 has made a video appearance on The Tonight Show and a contestant in the Today show Domestic Diva Contest. During the summer of 2004, Miss Richfield was the headliner at the Crown & Anchor in Provincetown. Most recently she taped a pilot for Cooking's A Drag which is being considered by NBC.

A complimentary comparison to Bette Midler is only the beginning of what can be said about Monique Marvez. With an hourglass figure and a stopwatch wit, she has emerged as a bright and provocative talent. Marvez believes in the adage, "You can never make a second first impression." She has consistently sold out clubs and concert halls from Miami to Anchorage. Monique digs into relationships. "She will keep you in stitches as she 'reflects' on sex, dating and growing up." Monique appears daily on Monique & The Man on the Radio Station Real 97.1.

For over 20 years, Bernie Lubbers has demonstrated time and again how to perform in most any situation and in any type of venue. His stand up is clean, clever, and story-like in presentation. Bernie appears regularly on television and radio and is one of the most requested performers on the popular national program The Bob & Tom Show, which has over 6 million listeners at any one time in 150+ markets. Bernie is a regular fixture at corporate outings and charity benefits. He is proud to serve as a celebrity Goodwill Ambassador of Brands for Future Brands, LLC which owns Jim Beam, Absolut, VOX, Dekeyper, and other labels.

Known as the Mistress of Mayhem, Hurricane Summers is "full of life and very tongue in cheek and full of camp - as if one could take Eartha Kitt, Bette Midler, and Tina Turner and rolled them together to come up with a whole new critter!" Hurricane is known for off-beat sense of humor and "fabulous toasts!" Hurricane is a regular performer at Connections Nightclub in Louisville.

Laugh OUT Loud sponsors include Statscript Pharmacy, Budweiser/Zink Distributing Company, EXP and The Word. Proceeds from the Laugh OUT Loud event will be used by Indy Pride, Inc. to provide scholarships to GLBT students throughout the State of Indiana. For details about the scholarships, visit the Indy Pride website at www.indyprideinc.com.

Rachael Davis In Concert

In the span of her twenty-two years, Rachael has literally shared the stage with Boston based singer/songwriter Vance Gilbert, folk divas Claudia Schmidt and Sally Rogers, Prairie Home Companion regulars Robin and Linda Williams, jazz legends Marcus Belgrave and Winston Walls -- amongst others. She has opened for Dar Williams, David Lindley, Garnet Rogers, Chris Smither, Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer, Richard Shindell, Susan Werner, Peter Mulvey, Eddie From Ohio, Nerissa and Katryna Nields, The Kennedys, Clive Gregson, Hugh Blumenfeld, David LaMotte and many more.

In September of 2001, Rachael moved from Michigan to Boston and within the span of seven months was awarded a Boston Music Award for Best New Singer-Songwriter. In 2002, Rachael contributed "Lonely When You're Gone" to the Respond II compilation, which also includes such luminaries as Joan Baez, Dolly Parton, Ani DiFranco, and Eryka Badu.

Her influences range from the jazz styling of Ella Fitzgerald to the soulful pop vocals of Patty Griffin -- with many more in between. She is a contemporary songwriter but is equally at home singing anything from traditional ballads to Cole Porter to Joe Henry. In April 2001, she released her debut CD, Minor League Deities, a collection of original songs featuring performances by many of the people whose musical and personal paths she has crossed throughout her life, including Claudia Schmidt.

Kate Peterson and Sarah Cleaver, THE TORCH SONG EVOLUTION TOUR

9:00 PM
FREE ADMISSION
The Abbey, 825 N. Pennsylvania, 317.269.8426
More info at torchsong.katepeterson.com

Sarah and Kate define a torch song as one that's meaning and purpose, in its many interpretations, has continued to inspire change within the world as it evolves. Songs that have sustained generations. Songs that have found a unifying voice for the sometimes voiceless. They yearn to share these songs, learned and crafted with youthful and aggressive abandon, with every known rock and specimen. Through music, laughter, witty banter and true, honest humanism Sarah and Kate hope to do their part to fuel the revolution.

"These two singer/songwriters have something to say that audiences want to hear…and they deliver their heartfelt messages with an irresistible musical flair that moves people to their core. Their aggressive acoustic style and honest, thought-provoking lyrics have been winning over crowds throughout the country. Together their sound is powerful and uniquely beautiful." -Cheryl VanDeKerkove, Producer East Lansing Women in the Arts Festival

Kate Peterson creates pleasantly aggressive folk music that you can rock to, cry to or just plain smile to… gravelly, unbridled, soulful vocals riding up, down & around a ferociously passionate guitar style that together create straight up honest songs that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. She is touring in support of her second independent release, Undone, released January 05. Kate has shared stages with many-a-talented performers including Toshi Reagon, Alix Olson, The Butchies, Pamela Means, Ellis, Edie Carey, Rose Polenzani, Tami Hart, Lisa Hunter and more.

With her unique quirkiness and interesting life experiences, Sarah Cleaver engages audiences with the spirit of her performances, bursting with fiery lyrics and personal angst. By incorporating the personal in the political, Sarah uses her music as a platform to promote social and political change. Her debut release, From Where I Stand, is distributed by Goldenrod Music. Sarah has performed with national touring acts such as Bitch (of Bitch and Animal), Edie Carey, Bora Yoon and Mary Lou Lord.
