Voices from the Heart

Voices From the Heart is a multi-dimensional HIV education theatrical production. The production, designed to enhance current HIV/AIDS prevention efforts, is the product of hundreds of hours of interviews conducted by Hoosiers with Hoosiers about HIV. These real stories have been culled to form the performance script for Voices From the Heart.

An AIDS Benefit, A Dance of Love

will be presented on at 8 p.m. at the John Waldron Arts Center in Bloomington. One night of music and original choreography by Bloomington artists includes performances by IU faculty and student musicians and dancers, performance artist and choreographer Scott Jones, Emmy winner and Tony nominated choreographer George Pinney, from Broadway's Blast trumpetist Ben Harloff, jazz vocalist Janiece Jaffe, singer/song writer Matt Gold, George Pinney's IU Broadway Cabaret, and Windfall Dancers.

All proceeds benefit POSITIVE-LINK. POSITIVE-LINK provides testing facilities, education and outreach and confidential support services for persons living with HIV and AIDS, their companions/spouses, and families or other primary caregivers.

Tickets available at Bloomingfoods Market & Deli. $12.00 general admission, $6.00 students/senior citizens. Tickets also available at the door.

Building on the success of our early-October show, we invite you to Indiana Still Cares' "Holiday Cabaret 2002" -- a collection of live singers, amateur and professional drag stars performing for one night only! Held on the main stage of Talbott Street from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., an open dance will begin at 10:30 p.m. to the beat of a guest Dj, to be announced. In addition to the evening's entertainment, Indiana Still Cares will present four special Superstar Awards to individuals for their contributions to the GLBT community throughout the year. The SuperStar Awards were first presented in 1983 and have been the focal point of our Holiday Celebration ever since.

Indianapolis Women's Chorus SACRED VOICES: A HOLIDAY CELEBRATION

This holiday concert will celebrate the musical and poetic voices of women, rejoicing in the rich depth of women's expressions of the sacred. You'll hear familiar Christmas songs, traditional Celtic music, 12th century chant, and contemporary choral works from gospel Poems and song texts will feature May Swenson, Hildegard von Bingen, Christina Rosetti, Mary Oliver and many others. Women in the Arts New Year's Eve "Gayla"

Women In the Arts, Inc., the 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that produces the National Women's Music Festival, will host its Annual "Gayla" New Year's Eve Dance on Tuesday, December 31, 2002, from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

A new location at the Fountain Square Theatre Ballroom, 1105 Prospect Street, Indianapolis, is sure to please every taste. Come "dressed to the nines" to ring in the new year, or dress casually for duckpin bowling, DJ dance, pool/billiards, or playing cards in the quiet mezzanine. Duckpin bowling $25/hr. per lane (5-6 people per lane). Pool/billiards price: $8/hr.; $4/half hr. (To reserve duckpin bowling, you must call 317-686-6006 or 317-685-1955.)

There's plenty of free parking and the price is affordable for everyone!
