The INTRAA Transgender Film Series REEL GENDER continues on Friday, June 4th with the award-winning HBO film, Normal. Living Out Loud Women's Music Festival (Lousville)
The Living Out Loud Women's Music Festival is an all day women's music festival presented by the Rainbow Community Music of Louisville. The festival will be held on June 5, 2004 from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the Actors Theatre, Pamela Brown Auditorium located at 316 West Main Street in Louisville, KY. The event was originally announced to be held at the Belvedere, and has been moved to an indoor facility to avoid any complications caused by weather. Admission price is $20, with children 12 and under accompanied by parent admitted free.
Tickets are available through the Actors Theatre Box Office and can be purchased at the Box Office until and including the day of the event. Tickets may be ordered by phone at 502-584-1205, toll-free at 1-800-4-ATL-TIX or on-line at www.actorstheatre.org/tickets.htm.
The festival will feature a variety of local, regional and nationally touring performers. Music performed will include Appalachian folk; contemporary folk; folk-pop; folk-rock; soul; and rhythm and blues. The festival will include day-stage performances and night-stage performances with a dinner break between. The day-stage will feature emerging and established local and regional performers. The night-stage will feature Kentucky's most popular touring women's music performers and nationally touring singer/songwriters.
The festival is a non-profit event sponsored by Rainbow Community Music of Louisville. IndyIndie Presents Jamie Anderson and Ripley Caine
Jamie Anderson and Ripley Caine will both be performing at the last concert until late August!! We loaded up the evening since it's going to be so long before we get together again! Several exceptional artists are coming including potter/photographer Rhea Fitzgerald!! Rhea is also showing at Talbott St Fair on Saturday! The menu is going to be a true feast with scrumptious stir-fry and gourmet fixin's for lettuce wraps. As always there will be food for every diet so come hungry! IN Pride
Pride 2004 will be held the weekend of June 12-13, 2004. The weekend begins with the second annual gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (GLBT) parade. The Parade will once again begin on the corner of College and Massachusetts Avenue. Parade step off will be at 10:00 a.m.
Immediately following the parade, the Pride Festival will be held in University Park. The Festival will run from 11:00 am ? 7:00 pm. The Festival will begin with The National Anthem sung by Halcyon, Florida's leading lesbian singing duo. Local artists and Female Illusionists will provide entertainment. Headlining the event will be Crystal Waters, CeCe Penniston & Abigail.
Pride weekend will conclude on Sunday June 13, 2004, with a Pride Picnic to be held at Garfield Park. The Picnic will be from 12:00 p.m. ? 2:00 p.m. The Pride Celebration will conclude with "The Back Alley Tea Dance" at Metro Bar on Massachusetts Avenue with DJ Wayne Shepherd from 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Organizations and vendors who are interested in participating in the Pride Celebration may obtain vendor applications; parade applications or performer applications at the Indy Pride Web Site . The Southern Baptist Convention is the 2nd largest denomination in the United States, with over 15 million members. Phoenix Theatre Presents The Indiana Premiere Of International Hit Musical Naked Boys Singing
The opening number promises no "prudity" and no "crudity"; just plenty of "Gratuitous Nudity."
The Phoenix Theatre continues its tradition of presenting non-traditional musicals with the Indiana premiere of NAKED BOYS SINGING. This good-hearted musical treat will open with a half-price preview on Thursday, June 17 and continue through Sunday, July 25. Tickets are $25.00 for those 25 and over; $15.00 for those 18-24. No one under the age of 18 will be admitted to NAKED BOYS SINGING. Tickets can be purchased with a credit card by calling 317-635-PLAY (317-635-7529).
NAKED BOYS SINGING is a traditional musical revue, in the vein of Vaudeville and high-camp American musical theater, performed by an energetic troupe of young nude men. Its only point is to celebrate the splendors of male nudity in comedy, song and dance. Musical numbers range from the screamingly funny (like the sassy opening number "Gratuitous Nudity" or the circumcision-based "Bliss of a Bris") to poignant and moving numbers (such as "Kris Look What You've Missed" and "Window to Window"). There are 16 songs in NAKED BOYS SINGING- making this 90-minute tribute to the human male, fly by in a torrent of laughter and nudity.

Indianapolis Women's Chorus Presents "To a Wild Rose"
"To a Wild Rose" pays tribute to the women of WWII. Songs will remember "Rosie the Riveter", the women who went to work in the factories as well as those who stayed home. In more serious works they will remember those who died in the Holocaust and at Hiroshima, and perform works by those remarkable women in the Japanese prison camp who formed a vocal orchestra. Eleanor Roosevelt (enacted by Nan Brooks) will make a guest appearance.
They will perform at their usual concert hall at the Indiana History Center at the corner of NY St. and West St., starting at 8:00 pm on Saturday 6/26 and 3:00 pm on Sunday 6/27.
This is a special 10th anniversary concert for the chorus as well. Concert attendees from both days (hold on to your ticket stubs!) are invited to join IWC at their birthday party after the concert on Sunday, also at the IHC, downstairs facing the canal.
