Acoustic troubadour Eric Himan at IU Bloomington

Acoustic troubadour, Eric Himan will be playing a FREE show open to the community at Indiana University at 8 pm on the campus of IU in the McNutt Flame Room. Eric has been traveling nationally for the last eight months in support of his third, critically acclaimed release "All For Show". Eric delivers a dynamic live performance. He just completed a 30 stop tour for Borders Books and Music nationally, has been a featured guest on Sirius Radio, and has been covered by OUT, The Advocate, Instinct and Genre Magazines. Eric is also a featured artist on gay.com's "buzzworthy" section as well as the " celebrity qsat" section.

For more information, please contact IU's LGBT Center at 812-855-0763

Here's a sample about what others have said of Eric:

"The folk singer's unassuming stage presence sets the perfect tone for the intimate live show. He introduces each song with personal anecdotes and explanations, giving audience members the ability to connect with his lyrics on an emotional level." --Aaron Heier

" "All for Show" is Himan's third release, and it's more of a good thing: more roots-rocking, crowd-pleasing tunes; more soul-exposing honesty in one song than John Mayer accomplishes in an entire CD.-- Frontiers News Magazine (LA)

"Sharing with folkie Ani DiFranco a frenetic guitar-strumming style, Himan injects an energy into his songs that gives his tales of love and loneliness a palpable immediacy. His vocals are far from gruff, but still convey a hard-edged stance in spite of his sentimentality. Hearing the performance that Himan puts together for All for Show, one gets the sense that his live shows make an even bigger impression." -- The Dallas Voice

"With his engaging personality and commanding playing, he's winning over fans, gig by gig. His voice has a Dave Matthews' kind of quality to it, while his songs feature strong hooks. He cradles his guitar with his heavily tattooed arms and plays with bold, percussive strokes." -- Erie Times

"A Certain Justice" at Cinema Grill

Christopher Allen has announced the opening of his third feature film, A Certain Justice. Indianapolis' Cinema Grill, 1289 West 86th Street, has been chosen as the venue for the preview of this powerful, and moving psychological drama, which Allen has called his best work to date.

The story follows the lead character of Ramona Baker, a wounded soul who is confronted with her abusive past. Of the many intriguing storylines, we follow Ramona's intense relationship with her partner, Jeanne Benkert. "Their love for one another is truly put to the test." said Writer & Director, Christopher Allen. "I wanted to show the dynamics of unconditional love thrown into the Lions Den." he added. "To center on a woman's soul and dire need to rectify her past."

"This is the crescendo for RACSO Motion Pictures." Allen said. "I've spent four years of my life, and tens of thousands of dollars to ensure our quality was top-notch. I never settled for any less." he said. Indianapolisfilm.net calls Allen's film "an excellent piece of work." (9-7-03) Nuvo Magazine says, "The script is one of the strongest I've seen in Indianapolis film." (9-22-04)

"The story is what is at the heart of this film. How the love between these two women is literally beaten, battered, and bruised; and yet, their love survives in the end. "Of all the fascinating angles in this story, their loving relationship is at the heart of this movie." said Allen. "Truly unique for something like this to come from Indiana, which is typically not where you would find a film centering around two lesbian lovers."

A Certain Justice, starring Jason Kistler, Bobby Christman, and Melissa Greathouse, is now playing at the Cinema Grill located at 1289 West 86th Street Indianapolis. Weekend showings begin this Friday (Sep. 24th) with both Friday and Saturday night screenings beginning at 9pm. Admission is $5 per adult, and a variety of menu items are available.

More information about this film can be found by visiting www.racsofilms.com.

The film has achieved US and Canadian distribution through Tapeworm Distribution in Los Angeles, and is expected to hit shelves at Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Bookspan, Amazon.com, Ingram, Collage Video, Musicland, Alliance Entertainment, Tower, TransWorld, Virgin Stores, Wherehouse, Borders.com, Movies Unlimited, Diamond Comics, J& R Music, Best Buy, Video Product Distributors, Baker & Taylor, Internet and the Movie Gallery later this year.

Originally from Madison, Indiana, Allen moved Racso Motion Pictures to Indianapolis because of the availability of talent and production resources. Upon completing A Certain Justice, Allen carefully crafted a plan for a nationwide release of the film. Already in negotiations for distribution, Allen hopes to use A Certain Justice to show Indianapolis as a viable and competitive city for the production of major motion pictures.

Sunday Spaghetti Dinner with Indiana Equality

Indiana Equality Fundraiser

3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Aesop's Table 600 Massachusetts Avenue, Indianapolis

Indiana Equality is a strong coalition of regional and statewide organizations, from all corners of the state, committed to full equality for all Indiana residents regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people suffer pervasive discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodation, education, medical care, and in their everyday lives because of homophobia and a lack of legal protection. Despite the flawed "special rights" argument made by opponents, nondiscrimination laws simply help to ensure that GLBT people have equal access to the same opportunities and protections granted to everyone else, such as the ability to work in an environment where people are judged by their job performance, not their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Our Goal is equal protection under the law for all Hoosiers regardless of gender identity of sexual orientation. Hoosiers believe in fairness. Our laws must reflect that.

To make your reservation, contact Indiana Equality at
