Indianapolis-- An anticipated low voter turnout for the primary election on Tuesday May 6 presents an opportunity for gains for the local GLBT community according to the Greater Indianapolis Fairness Alliance, a recently formed GLBT rights organization.
Marion County residents are especially urged to vote on Tuesday. "Most people will not vote thinking those races don't really matter," states GIFA's Mary Byrne, "but all of the City-County Councilors will be elected for another term and we can make a big difference in who wins by getting our community out to vote."
More information about the primary election, including a voter's guide prepared by GIFA, can be found on the organization's website at www.indyfairness.org
