Indianapolis, August 1, 2004-- As part of its ongoing commitment to improve health care in central Indiana, The Health Foundation of Greater Indianapolis has awarded nearly $134,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations serving youth and senior citizens.
CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions, an Indianapolis organization that helps older adults and people with disabilities receive in-home services, was awarded $75,000 to support The Generations Project, a collaborative education, organizing and advocacy group of 11 nonprofits serving the elderly and the disabled. The money will be used to help improve Indiana's system of long-term care, with the objective of eliminating waiting lists for home- and community based services within five years.
