Indianapolis, August 14, 2004-- A caravan of California activists who are preparing for a cross-country trip in support of marriage equality for same-sex couples are planning an Indianapolis stopover and public event. Indianapolis is one of several stops on their way to Washington DC, where they will converge with other marriage activists in for a rally at the U.S. Capitol. A total of approximately 50 activists are expected to be in the caravan, dubbed the "Marriage Equality Express."The Indianapolis stopover will take place on Friday October 8. "We're still in the planning stages," states San Diego activist Anthony White, who will be riding in the caravan. White is currently working with local volunteers to coordinate the event. "My idea for the evening is evolving into two parts," he continues, "a rally and then perhaps a dinner or party to follow."
Details of the event will be posted on GayIndy.Org when they are finalized. More information about the Marriage Caravan can be found on the web at http://www.marriageequalityca.org/
